Wizard Island's History Book
Founded June 4 2005
About a month before the release of HBP, a dreamer named Hpfan08 (you may know him as Paul) decided to create a forum where you wouldn’t get lost in the shuffle of a big forum like Chamber of Secrets. He posted a job application on the WoW thread on the site, and he only got one response; but then again, that one was Hpwiz. Together, they made what you now know as Wizard Island(WI).
After that, Hpwiz and Paul, on opposite ends of the U.S. mind you, collaborated on making a haven for Harry Potter fans. The response wasn’t what they had bargained for. After seeing that Paul had copied and pasted the forum names from CoS as a guideline on WI, he was threatened with legal actions from the admins on the site. Some of the members decided to… help CoS’s cause by attempting to drive the forum down in flames. Needless to say, 2 staff wasn’t enough to contain this. So, Paul and Hpwiz managed to wrestle up a handful of staff dedicated to the site; sadly, all but one of them has since moved on. That one happens to be AskPeeves, our Cleaning Princess. She still to this very day proofreads almost every single post by herself.
A more recent staff addition is Riot_Grrl. She’s definitely earned her spot as a respected member on the team. Constantly searching for her next victim, she won’t rest until everyone respects her authorita’.
So 3 banners, 3 buttons, 5 URLs, 12,500 posts, 140 members, and 1 year 5 months later, WI has evolved into so much more then any of its founders could have imagined. With an actual home page, a successful forum, and devoted members. Best of all though, it has taught WI’s staff so much, and made us numerous new friends. WI is still running strong, and the future looks bright, and it’s all thanks to you the members.

We are in no way affiliated with J.K Rowling, Warner Bros, or any of the Harry Potter movies cast. We are just a fan site that loves Harry Potter.
